PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a monitored image recorder that can properly record photographed images at a plurality of places corresponding to a plurality of sensors with a simple configuration for a prescribed period before and after reporting from the sensors. SOLUTION: A video switching section 12 selectively outputs video images photographed by a plurality of video cameras 101, 102,..., 10n installed at a plurality of monitoring areas by each frame sequentially. Then a signal pre- processing section 13 converts the image into digital data of a prescribed form, an image compression section 14 compresses the data, and a buffer memory 15 stores the data for a prescribed period in the unit of frames. A control section 11, when receiving a prescribed signal from any of sensors 201, 202,..., 20m such as a sensing signal of a moving object, makes an image recording section 16 record a compressed image of a corresponding camera.
