摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an information recording medium on which a content including new service is recorded when encoding an outer AV input signal to an MPEG(moving picture experts group) transport stream and to provide a device and a method for recording and reproducing data in/from the information recording medium. SOLUTION: Extension data is stored in the content of the PSI(program specific information) packet of a self-encoded MPEG transport stream and the transfer timing of each packet is regulated. Thus, encoding/decoding processing is efficiently performed while decoder compatibility is kept, and the added value of the recording content can be heightened.
