PURPOSE: A method for controlling a closed loop power in a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) is provided to uniformly maintain a receiving sensibility by variably assigning a calculation period of a mean value of a signal/interference rate of a base station and a power step size of a cellular phone with reference to a time change quantity of the signal/interference rate. CONSTITUTION: A base station measures a signal/interference rate of a received signal, and calculates a mean value of the measured signal/interference rate per a set mean value calculation period(ST2). The base station compares the mean value with a reference signal/reference rate, transmits a power control command to a cellular phone, and controls a transmission power of the cellular phone(ST3). The base station judges whether a reference time is reached(ST4). If the reference time is reached, the base station judges whether a power control command is over an upper limit during the reference time(ST5). If the power control command is over the upper limit during the reference time, the base station transmits a command for increasing a power step size to the cellular phone and decreases a mean value calculation period of the signal/reference rate(ST5). If the power control command is less the upper limit during the reference time, the base station transmits a command for decreasing the power step size to the cellular phone and increases the mean value calculation period of the signal/reference rate(ST6). |
