PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suitably select a radio interface to be used for transmitting data when printing by means of a printer on the basis of a command from a portable information terminal having a plurality of radio interfaces. SOLUTION: A portable information terminal 10 has a transmitting/receiving part for wireless LAN enabling communication to an access point 40 of a cable LAN 30, a wireless transmitting/receiving part enabling direct communication to a printer 20 and a communication route selection control part for selecting the transmitting/receiving part or the like and a user presets any one of mode 1, mode 2 and mode 3 as a communication route selecting method and saves it in the portable information terminal. When the user executes a printing instruction from the portable information terminal 10 to the printer 20, the portable information terminal 10 performs processing according to the set mode and automatically determines the transmitting/receiving part (radio interface) optimal for the user and data are transmitted to the printer and printed. |
