PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lever connector with an improved reliability of fitting state detecting function which can electrically detect the fitting state. SOLUTION: A fitting state detection magnet 33 is integrally mounted to an operation part 31 of a lever 30, and a reed switch 50 is arranged at the bottom surface of a hood part 41 of a male housing 40. When fitting both housings 10, 40, with each other, by setting the lever 30 to the fitting position after making a cam pin 44 engage with a cam groove 35 by setting the lever 30 to the stand-by position, both housings 10, 40 are ordinarily fitted by the cam action, and the reed switch 50 operates by the magnetic force of the fitting state detection magnet 33. Whether both housings 10, 40 are in the state of fitting or not, is electrically detected by connecting the reed switch 50 to a detecting circuit or the like.
