The emergency exit (10) from a prison vehicle is built into an interior wall (2) of the vehicle cell (4) and is formed as an opening (12) containing a flap (20) articulatedly connected on one side and provided with a snap lock (40) of a closure device (28). The closure device holds the flap in the closed state. The snap lock is releasable by an operating device (64) operable from the outside of the vehicle cell.
