PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a solar cell, having a wide light absorption region and high photoelectric conversion efficiency. SOLUTION: This dye-sensitized solar cell has a porous semiconductor layer 3, in which dye is adsorbed and a carrier transport layer 4 between a transparent conductive film 2 formed on a transparent substrate 1 and a conductive substrate, and also has a counter electrode 5, a platinum film 6, and sealant 7, and is manufactured by using a composite dye formed by the chemical adsorption bonding of two or more dyes, having the different maximum light absorption wavelengths. Preferably, two or more kinds of dyes are adsorbed in a porous semiconductor layer, in the order of from the dye having the short maximum sensitivity wavelength region to the dye having the long maximum sensitivity wavelength region, and also two or more kinds of dyes are composed of the dye, having maximum light absorption wavelength in the wavelength region of 400 nm or longer but shorter than 600 nm, and the dye having the maximum light absorption wavelength in the wavelength region of 600 nm-1,000 nm. |
