An echo processing apparatus includes high−pass filter(11)for suppressing a low frequency band component of a reception signal,a loudspeaker(3)for outputting the low band−suppressed reception signal which has passed through the high−pass filter(11)as acoustics,an A/D converter(6)for converting an acoustic echo input from a microphone(4)to a digital transmission signal,and echo canceller means(7)for generating a pseudo echo signal in accordance with the low band−suppressed reception signal which has passed through the high−pass filter(11),subtracting the pseudo echo signal from the digital signal which has been converted by the A/D converter(6),and eliminating the acoustic echo output from the loudspeaker(3)and input to the microphone(4).
