PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image recorder, a control method and a storage medium in which print processing can be carried out efficiently in the optimal print order even in case of a printer engine requiring a special sequence at the time of both side printing by determining the print order of a plurality of pages non-fixedly/selectively depending on the situation at the time of both side printing. SOLUTION: Capacity information of a printer engine 105 is read out and stored in a specified storage area and print data received from a data processor 101 is interpreted. If a both side print designation is included in the print designation content, the stored capacity information of the printer engine 105 is read out and both side print control scheduling is performed non-fixedly/selectively depending on the situation such that a higher speed print out can be ensured within a possible range based on the capacity information. Raster development processing and both side print control are then carried out based on the scheduled print order.
