PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air conditioning apparatus capable of avoiding a compressor, etc. from being damaged owing to liquid compression, and of making rapid the building-up of heating operation and the like. SOLUTION: Pressure of liquid compression is judged on the basis of a current Ip conducting through a motor 21 upon starting of a compressor. If it is judged that there is the liquid compression, the compressor 1 is actuated at lower starting revolutions Rs than target revolutions Rt, whereby any damage of the compressor 1 by the liquid compression and its danger are avoided. Further, the presence of the liquid compression due to the current Ip conducting through the motor 21 during the restriction of the revolutions is judged. If no liquid compression is judged, the restriction of the revolutions is quickly released to change the control to a loop of target revolutions control, whereby building-up of heating operation and the like are made rapid.
