PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic apparatus and a portable telephone set in which the design range of size in the vertical width of a display screen is wide and which have excellent display quality. SOLUTION: A portable telephone set 1 has a display part having a rectangular liquid crystal device 400 and an operation part 3. The display screen of the liquid crystal device 400 is bisected into a left area and a right area and each divided area is driven separately. A plurality of terminals connected electrically to electrodes which are each formed in the divided areas are provided in each of a second side 400b and a third side 400c vertical to the first side 400a of the side of the operation part 3 of the liquid crystal device 400 and a first wiring substrate 313a and a second wiring substrate 313b are packaged so as to be connected electrically to these terminals.
