METHOD AND EQUIPMENT FOR TESTING HORIZONTAL LOADING IN PIT

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and an equipment for testing horizontal loading in a pit in which a hose for supplying/discharging fluid to/from a measuring tube is imparted with flexibility of such a degree as causing no operational trouble and volumetric expansion of the pit is negligible. SOLUTION: The elastic tube of a measuring tube is expanded in a boring pit and loaded with the pit wall and the strength and/or deformation of the ground is determined from the relation between the deformation of the pit wall and the applied pressure. In such a method for testing horizontal loading in a pit, the hose for supplying/discharging fluid to/from a measuring tube is at least a double tube and the fluid is supplied/discharged between the inner and outer tubes of the hose simultaneously with supply/discharge of the fluid to/from the inner tube.
