PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide high hardness steel parts which have better pitting resistance and wear resistance than those of high concentrate carburized steel parts. SOLUTION: The high hardness steel parts having excellent pitting resistance and wear resistance are obtained. The steel parts has a composition containing 0.1 to 0.5% C, >0.35 to 1.5% Si, <=2% Mn and <=3% Cr, by mass, and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities and is carburized, nitrided, quenched, and precipitated Si-Mn carbonitrides. The contents of Si+Mn by mass ratio are >=50% in the carburized and nitrided layer. The time till the baking time 1 shown in the figure is 1.5 to 3 times or higher that of the conventional one.
