PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a paving thickness with high accuracy without being influence on work environment to ensure a useful and a predetermined paving thickness. SOLUTION: An asphalt finisher adjusting the paving thickness by changing a height and an inclination of a screed 3 provided backward of the body 1 includes a plurality of electro-optical distance measurement devices 18 and 19 provided along the traveling direction of at least one side of the screed at a predetermined interval and the paving thickness adjusting section 10 adjusting the height and the inclination of the screed so that the paving thickness can be calculated from a difference of the distance to the ground surface obtained by the electro-optical distance measurement devices and that the calculated paving thickness can become a predetermined value.
