PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure contracting action in a multistage hydraulic cylinder comprising inner and outer cylinders. SOLUTION: This telescopic pole is provided with multiple cylinder units connecting the inner cylinders to the outer cylinders by the lower end connecting member, the upper inner cylinder is movably and externally fitted around the lower cylinder, the upper outer cylinder and the connecting member are slidably and internally fitted in the lower outer cylinder so that the cylinder units are vertically connected to one another. The respective inner cylinder insides are formed into closed spaces sealed and communicated with one another and pressure oil is fed to/discharged from the closed space so as to extend/contract the cylinder units. This telescopic pole is characterized in that a winch is attached in the lower part of the lowest end inner cylinder and a wire winding out from its drum is made to pass through the respective inner cylinders and connect to the uppermost inner cylinder.
