PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for controlling a wiper motor for an automobile capable of suppressing a chattering phenomenon in a low speed operation and further preventing an overrun in a high speed operation without increasing the number of parts and manufacturing cost. SOLUTION: The method for controlling the wiper motor for an automobile uniformizes a rotation speed of a motor, and sets the number of wipe times per unit time by a halt time of the motor. Thereby, since the number of wipe times can be gradually switched by differentiating the halt time of the motor, the rotation speed of the motor can be determined to a speed at which a blade does not generate chattering. Furthermore, since the rotation speed of the motor is uniform irrespective of switching of the number of wipe times, an arm is prevented from causing the overrun even when switched to the high speed operation.
