PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To protect an optical fiber against damage by coating a long looped erbium doped optical fiber with resin and then encasing the looped optical fiber fixedly. SOLUTION: An EDF(erbium doped optical fiber) 1 is looped and secured flatly using a material similar to that of the coating of fiber, e.g. a UV-curing resin or silicon. The looped EDF 1 is secured by immersing it into a liquid resin and curing the resin or by lamination thus producing a resin coating sheet 26 containing a looped EDF 1. Since the EDF 1 is secured while being coated with resin, an optical amplifier module strong against vibration an impact can be obtained while eliminating the possibility of breaking the EDF 1. Furthermore, breakage of the EDF 1 caused by work miss can also be prevented because the EDF 1 being led out from the resin coating sheet 26 is also protected by means of a tube 27. |
