MONOLITHIC REFRACTORIES FOR WET PROCESS SPRAYING

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide monolithic refractories for wet process spraying which does not entail complicatedness in application even from room temperature to >=100 deg.C in application temperature and makes it possible to obtain necessary and sufficient adhesive strength and denseness at the application body. SOLUTION: The monolithic refractories for wet process spraying are used for a wet process spraying method consisting of force feeding the kneaded mixture obtained by kneading the powdery monolithic refractories containing a refractory material regulated in grain size to coarse grains to superfine powder of <=8 mm and a prescribed volume of water to a spray nozzle by a force feeding machine and spray applying the kneaded mixture by simultaneously supplied compressed air. The monolithic refractories described above consist of a compound composed of 5 to 85 wt.% SiC raw material containing 0.3 to 3 wt.% metal Si, 2 to 20 wt.% alumina cement and the balance the refractory material.
