<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an active matrix liquid crystal display device capable of enhancing yield by reducing defects associated with the breakdown of an interlayer insulator film. SOLUTION: In an active matrix liquid crystal display device having wiring groups 2a, 2b, thin film transistors, auxiliary capacitances, flattening films 6 piled up on the wiring groups and the thin film transistors and pixel electrodes formed on the flattening films 6 on one principal surface of a substrate 1, wirings 9b intersecting the wiring groups 2a, 2b are formed on the flattening layers 6 and are formed with electric conductors which are formed simultaneously with the pixel electrodes. Since an interlayer insulator film whose thickness is about 1 to 5μm exist between the gate wiring 2a and the connection wiring 9b, there is little likelihood that the short circuit between the gate wiring 2a and the connection wiring 9b is generated and, as a result, the generation of defects due to dielectric breakdown by static electricity is reduced sharply.</p> |
