PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the elongation, strength, and weatherability of a modified silicon based sealant. SOLUTION: The modified silicon based sealant is composed of an alkylene oxide polymer having silyl groups at the terminals which has been produced by reacting an alkoxylated product of a specific polyetherpolyol with a polyhalogen compound to increase the molecular weight of the alkylene oxide polymer, reacting the resulting alkylene oxide polymer with a compound having an ethylenically unsaturated group and a halogen to produce an alkylene oxide polymer (D) having an unsaturated group, and further reacting the alkylene oxide polymer with a silicon hydride compound.
