PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of a cathode ray tube with high efficiency percentage by mounting an aperture grill to a glass panel with high accuracy. SOLUTION: At the first step S1, a frame length AD and a frame length BC are substituted to the Mahalanobis distance finding equation (1). At the second step S2, simultaneous equations (4), which are obtained by partially differentiating the equation (1), which is a result of the first step S1, in terms of positional correction valuesδx andδz , and by making them equal to '0', are solved in terms ofδx ,δz , as a result, the positional correction valuesδx ,δz of local minima (= absolute minima) are quantitatively determined. At the third step, the position of a flat spring against a frame is controlled by usingδx ,δz obtained at the second step as positional correction values. At the fourth step, a spring welding machine welds a flat spring to the frame (grip) after position control.
