PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a polymerization catalyst comprising a polymerization metallic catalytic component having a remarkably high polymerization activity, and to provide a production process which gives a high molecular weight olefin (co)polymer with high efficiency by using the same. SOLUTION: The transition metal catalytic component for polymerization is represented by formula (1) (wherein Ind is a nonsubstituted or substituted indenyl group represented by a specific chemical formula; and Y is bonded to two Ind and is a substituted boron group having hydrogen or a 1-20C hydrocarbon group as the substituent.
