PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a pressure developing device small-sized and light-weight, to easily resolve jamming and to improve the precision of medium carrying in a printer. SOLUTION: In the pressure developing device where an exposed photosensitive medium is made to pass between a first roll (402) and a second roll (403) and is pressurized and developed between both rolls. A plurality of levers (408) arranged at intervals in the axial direction of the first roll are freely swingably supported by a support member (406) provided above the first roll. A first small roll (409) brought into contact with the upper face of the first roll is freely rotatably installed on one end part of each lever, and one end part of a spring (414) which has the other end part fixed to the support member (406) is connected to the other end part of each lever. The force of each spring is amplified on the principle of levers by the lever to press the first small roll (409) to the first roll (402). A means is provided which moves an operation member, to which the other end parts of springs are connected, from a first position to a second position to reduce the pressurizing force of rolls.
