PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a card connector requiring no space for inserting/ withdrawing a card, suitable for being mounted on a small instrument, reducing the number of components, saving cost, and suppressing the wear of a contact to enhance durability. SOLUTION: A left side wail 11 and a right side wall 12 facing each other are installed on the upper side of a base plate 10, a card 80 is held inside a card holding space 13 formed between both walls 11, 12, and terminals 82, 82, etc., are brought into contact with contacts 20, 20, etc. A holding groove 16 for holding a left long side part L of the card 80 positioned inside the card holding space 13 is installed in the left side wall 11, and a holding member 30 for holding a right long side part R of the card 80 positioned inside the card holding space 13 is installed in the right side wall 12. The holding member 30 is slid along the right long side part R of the card 80 positioned inside the card holding space 13 to move it toward the left side wall 11, and the right long side part L of the card 80 is held.
