PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an expansion valve unit capable of being further reduced in a cost. SOLUTION: A valve element 5, a shaft 6 to transmit displacement of a diaphragm 12 to the valve element 5, and a holder 8 are fixed and integrally moved, and a compression coil spring 9 to energize the valve element 5 in a valve closing direction is situated between the holder 8 and a stepped part in a body 1. Adjustment of a set valve at which the valve element 5 begins to open is effected by adjusting a load applied on the compression spring 9 and the adjustment is effected by a press-in amount when a lower housing 11 of a temperature sensitive chamber is pressed in the upper part of a body 1. As a result, a need for an adjust screw to adjust a spring load is eliminated and the number of parts can be reduced. Further, since an obstacle to inhibit a flow of an expanded refrigerant is eliminated in a low pressure refrigerant passage 3 situated downstream of the valve element 5, the generation of flow noise of a refrigerant can be reduced.
