PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a handrail renewal method for a passenger conveyor that can install a novel handrail efficiently and shortly. SOLUTION: After existing handrails are removed and interface brackets 2, 7 and 11 are mounted on an existing frame 1, a plurality of block handrails 50 and the like comprising a panel 50A, a handrail frame 50B, a panel support 50C and an outer deck 50G are set on the corresponding interface brackets. Unlike in a case where component parts of the handrail are assembled one by one, a field working time can be remarkably shortened. Mounting of the interface brackets 2, 7 and 11 whose mounting position is centered on the existing frame 1 can dispense with centering work of the mounting position of each block handrail 50, 60 and 70 to thus further improve working efficiency.
