A method for mounting a frameless wall decor article to a generally vertical support surface, the frameless wall decor article (10) including a mounting member (20) attached thereto, the mounting member (20) having a vertical engaging surface (25) and a downward support surface (24) perpendicular to a vertical centerline of the frameless wall decor article (10), includes aligning a receiving member (30) with the generally vertical support surface by leveling an upward support surface (34) of the receiving member (30) with the generaly vertical support surface, attaching the receiving member (30) to the generally vertical support surface with the upward support surface (34) in a level position, and engaging the mounting member (20) with the receiving member (30) so that the vertical engaging surface (25) of the mounting member (20) is in abutting relationship with a vertical engaging surface (35) of the receiving member (30), the downward and upward support surfaces (24, 34) are parallel to each other, and the horizontally position of the mounting member (20) and frameless article (10) are horizontally adjustable relative to the receiving member (30). A frameless wall decor article mounting system includes the generally planar frameless wall decor article (10), the mounting member (20) attached to the frameless wall decor article (10), and the receiving member (20), attached to the frameless wall decor article (10), and the receiving member (30), whereupon engagement of the mounting member (20) with the receiving member (30) the vertical engaging surface (25) of the mounting member (20) is in abutting relationship with the vertical engaging surface (35) of the receiving member (30) and the downward support surface (24) of the mounting member (20) is parallel to the upward support surface (34) of the receiving member (30).
