A screen printing bed is in the form of a profiled band (sic) which supports the screen printing bar elastically in the application direction and contains an elastomeric polyurethane material and an ultrahigh mol.wt. polyethylene. A screen printing (1) bed for applying a rotating screen printing bar against a roller (13), e.g. a printing or coating roller in a paper machine, a top or underside coater or the like for coating of material runs, where the screen printing bed (1) is in the form of a profiled band (sic) which supports the screen printing bar (2) elastically in the application direction and contains an elastomeric polyurethane material, into which is mixed in a proportion of at least 3 wt.% of an ultrahigh molecular weight polyethylene in a surface modification treatment. An Independent claim is included for preparation of the screen printing bed by heating a prepolymer mixture, especially a polyester mixture to 100 deg C, vacuum degassing, after mixing in of an ethene (sic) portion, further degassing, and after stabilization for more than 3 minutes, crosslinking and removal from the mold while still warm.
