The invention relates to a weapon (1) elevation-aiming system comprising: a first weapon-positioning means (2, 3) having a wide range of elevation movement in relation to a first rotation axis (A1) which is offset in relation to the centre of gravity of the weapon; and a second weapon (1) positioning means (4), which is connected to the first means (2, 3), having a narrow range of elevation movement in relation to a second axis of rotation (A2) passing through the centre of gravity of the weapon. The first axis of rotation (A1) is situated to the rear of the centre of gravity of the weapon (1). The first positioning means (2, 3) is articulated in relation to a structure (11) on which the weapon (1) is mounted around the first axis of rotation (A1). The invention can be used for mounting a weapon on a caterpillar vehicle.
