Each node (7) comprises an optical transmitter (12) for transmitting an optical signal representing a cell containing transmission information and address information through optical fibers (9), an optical receiver (13) for receiving an optical signal transmitted through optical fibers, and a reception ATM switch (17) for transferring the transmission information on the cell to a terminal (10) connected to the node (7) when the address information on the cell represented by an optical signal received by the optical receiver (13) specifies the node (7).</p> |
