<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control method for the tandem rolling mill capable of shortening controlling interval and realizing target rolling conditions at an earlier timing. SOLUTION: Thickness is measured with the thickness gauge at the exit where the rolling material 1 comes out of the last stand and simultaneously, such data as rolling load, drafting position in each stand are gathered, and misalignment between target wall thickness and actual wall thickness, and misalignment from target values in load distribution of each stand are calculated. The rolling mill control device (not illustrated), based on these values, brings actual wall thickness into line with target wall thickness and calculates target values of the exit wall thickness in each stand and rolling velocity of each stand at that time in order to bring the load distribution in each stand into line with the target load distribution. The control device gives the target value of the exit wall thickness calculated to the target thickness control device 2 of each stand and changes the target exit wall thickness. The change timing may be either performed simultaneously in each stand or delayed.</p> |
