PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink jet recorder in which aggregation of the ink mist and the mist of a printability enhancing liquid is reduced at the recording head face part. SOLUTION: A conductive member H2100 is disposed contiguously to the discharge opening plane of a liquid discharge head. A voltage is applied to the conductive member H2100 through a control means when liquid is discharged from an discharge opening. A voltage applying means applies a voltage to the conductive member under control of the control means. Mist generated at the time of discharging liquid from the discharge opening is attracted to the conductive member H2100 applied with a voltage. A removing means removes liquid adhering to the conductive member H2100 or aggregate produced through mutual reaction of the liquids.
