PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve accuracy in the detection of the fine calcified shadow of linear distribution, which is one of distribution forms having high possibility of malignancy. SOLUTION: A candidate point extracting means 10 extracts fine calcified candidate points in a source image on the basis of source image data P inputted from an image reader, or the like, and a clustering means 20 sets a cluster area by clustering the fine calcified candidate points extracted by the candidate point extracting means 10. A linearity evaluating means 30 performs a linearity evaluation by means of main component analysis to the cluster area set by the clustering means 20, and a candidate area detecting means 40 detects a rectangular area including the cluster area, which is evaluated linear in the linearity evaluating means 30, as a candidate area of the fine calcified shadow. |
