PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shape steel cutting method for reducing cutting energy, having high productivity, reducing deformation of a cutting surface, and having high cutting surface accuracy by almost simultaneously cutting a flange and a web. SOLUTION: When cutting shape steel 1 by a forming cutter, the shape steel is obliquely cut at an angle of becoming almost equal in the cutting directional thicknesses t1 and t2 of the flange 2 and the web 3 of the shape steel 1. When cutting the shape steel 1 by the forming cutter, the shape steel may be obliquely cut so as to become one in the peak when cutting the flange 2 and the web 3 of the shape steel 1.
