PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a body rear structure capable of effectively suppressing the noise of an exhaust pipe protruded to the opening part of a ventilation device without impairing the design freedom of rear bumper shape even when setting a rear overhang short. SOLUTION: The opening part 5 of the ventilation device for ventilating a cabin is formed upper than the connecting position of a connecting member 13 in a rear end panel 1, and the connecting member 13 is provided with a prescribed width in vehicle lateral direction so as to interrupt at least the opening part 5 and the exhaust pipe not shown and arranged under a vehicle body. Accordingly, intrusion of the exhaust noise or the like generated in the exhaust pipe through the opening part can be prevented by the connecting member for connecting the lower part of the rear end panel 1 to the lower surface of a rear bumper 3. Further, since no molding shrinkage is caused on the surface side by the influence of a rib 6 in the molding of the rear bumper 3 as in a conventional structure having the rib 6 formed from the rear bumper 3 toward the rear end panel 1, a measure for shielding the shrinkage such as set of a mold or character line is dispensed with, and the design freedom can be improved.
