APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR IMMERSING SEED IN WARM WATER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide both an apparatus for immersing seeds in warm water, with which a necessary amount of seed rice can surely and efficiently be sterilized at an accurate warm water temperature for a strict immersion time and a method for immersing seeds in warm water. SOLUTION: Tanks 20 and 30 for immersing seeds in warm water which are supplied with warm water at a fixed temperature and in which seed rice is immersed in warm water and a cold water tank 40 charged with cold water are arranged in the same plane. The tank 20 for immersing seeds in warm water is used for previous immersion and the tank 30 for immersing seeds in warm water is used for seed immersion. A traveling crane 50 for suspending and transporting a seed rice storage container 9 and taking out and inserting the seed rice storage container into the tanks 20 and 30 for immersing seeds in warm water and the cold water tank 40 is installed. The traveling crane 50 is equipped with a guide rail 52 extending over the tanks 20 and 30 for immersing seeds in warm water and the cold water tank 40 and a self-traveling crane 53 which is guided by the guide rail 52 and reciprocated. The seed rice storage container 9 is suspended from the self-traveling crane 53.
