PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pelletizing treating agent for manufacturing iron which is suitably used for pelletizing raw materials for manufacturing iron by adjusting moisture therein to obtain pseudo grains or pellets and to provide a pelletizing treating method using the same. SOLUTION: The raw material for manufacturing iron is subjected to pelletizing treatment (pseudo granulation or pelletization) by adding, for example, an aqueous solution containing a high molecular compound having carboxy group and/or its salt and polyethylene glycol chains to the raw materials for manufacturing iron containing fine powder of iron ore (raw material for sintering or raw material for palletizing) as the pelletizing treating agent for manufacturing iron.
