PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paint composition having an excellent fast-acting property and durability, and exhibiting an excellent performance by absorbing formaldehyde and capable of improving safety and working environment conditions. SOLUTION: The paint composition contains sulfamic acid and/or its salt, preferably an alkali metal salt of sulfamic acid. The paint composition can absorb toxic formaldehyde and make the room odorless quickly and over a long time. Accordingly, the paint composition is recently useful as a paint exhibiting, a deodorant performance by absorbing formaldehyde practically required a countermeasure for sick-house diseases.
