PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nip detecting device capable of surely detecting not only nip of a foreign matter by a moving body such as a back door and a fixed body such as a car body but also nip of the foreign matter by a shock absorbing means such as a gas damper and the fixed body. SOLUTION: This nip detecting device 10 has a pressure sensitive sensor 150 arranged in a rear side end part of a vehicle 16 of a side wall 26. Thus, the nip of the foreign matter 170 by the side wall 26 and the back door 14 can be detected by the pressure sensitive sensor 150 or a pressure sensitive sensor 100 arranged in the back door 14, and the nip of the foreign matter 170 by the side wall 26 causing no touch of the foreign matter 170 the pressure sensitive sensor 100 and the gas damper 28 can be detected by the pressure sensitive sensor 150. |
