PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a coolant composition which has high corrosion resistance without an amine salt and can especially inhibit the corrosion of aluminum and aluminum alloys at high temperatures. SOLUTION: This coolant composition comprises at least one of phosphoric acid and its alkali metal salts, at least one of calcium compounds and magnesium compounds, and at least one of 2-phosphobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid and its alkali metal salts. The production of deposits comprising the calcium compound is inhibited by the addition of the 2-phosphobutane-1,2,4-tricarboxylic acid, and the corrosion resistance is largely improved by the development of the synergistic effect of the components. |
