PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system to determine a resource characteristic, e.g. a level of toner in a cartridge without requiring use of a host machine for printers, copy machines, facsimile terminals and other systems which use consumable resources such as ink or toner for. SOLUTION: The system for displaying a level of consumable resources is provided with a cartridge 20 that contains the resources, a toner level sensor 51 that is placed on the cartridge to determine characteristics of the resources and a touch screen 56 that is mounted on the cartridge 20 and coupled to the sensor 51 which senses for display of the characteristic. |
