PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a content file download system in which a user terminal can appropriately download the content file to use it irrespective of the location of the server in which the content file is stored. SOLUTION: This system has an index server 50 that generates index data including the information on at least the ID and the storage location of the content file stored in a user server 41, stores the index data, transmits the index data to the user on the basis of the request from the user, and transmits the content file that the user has selected on the basis of the index data to the user.
