PURPOSE: Provided is a rubber mixture that is mixed and/or extended with non-carcinogenic mineral oils and that have comparable or better technical qualities than rubber mixtures to which hitherto conventional aromatic mineral oils have been added. CONSTITUTION: The rubber mixture comprises at least (a) a non-polar rubber; (b) a terpolymer comprising an olefinically unsaturated nitrile, a vinyl aromatic compound and a conjugated diene; and (c) a mineral oil that contains a DMSO extract of <=3 wt%, wherein the component(a) is present in amounts of 1 to 99 parts by weight, the component(b) in amounts of 1 to 99 parts by weight, and the component(c) in amounts of 1 to 50 parts by weight, in each case referred to the total amount of rubber.
