<p>It is intended to provide sterol compositions which are superior in the effect of lowering cholesterol to marketed vegetable sterols containing β-citosterol as the main component, fat compositions, foods containing the same, etc. Sterol compositions wherein the total sterol content amounts to 70% by weight or more and the content of Δ7 type sterol amounts to 13% by weight or more of the total sterol content; fat compositions wherein the total sterol content amounts to 1.0% by weight or more (preferably 1.5% by weight or more) and the content of Δ7 type sterol amounts to 13% by weight or more (preferably 25% by weight or more) of the total sterol content; and cholesterol-lowering agents or foods containing the above cholesterol compositions and the above fat compositions.</p> |
