<p>An inflatable cushion (2) is formed from two layers (6) of material that are seam-welded together. The seam (8) is provided with a local weakness (10) such that upon a predetermined excess internal pressure of the cushion (2) over the ambient pressure, the cushion (2) deflates in a controlled manner. The cushion (22) may be divided into two communicating compartments (22, 24), and finds particular application as a neck support or a s a foot-exercising cushion for use in pressurised aircraft.</p> |
