Spinning reel spool made lightweight overall, while maintaining the strength of its bobbin trunk and skirt. The spinning reel spool body (7) has a tubular bobbin trunk (7a), and a larger diameter skirt (7b) attached to the rear end of the bobbin trunk (7a). The bobbin trunk (7a) chiefly includes a bulkier bobbin portion (16) of synthetic polymer manufacture, and a base portion (17) formed unitarily with and on the inner peripheral side of the bobbin portion (16). The skirt (7b) is of an aluminum alloy manufacture, and is formed at lesser bulk by press-working a tubular portion (7c) and a rear flange portion (7d) unitarily.
