After a drinking glass-like container is positioned upside down on top of the affected area a vacuum is created inside the cup, resulting in a spontaneous activation of the capillary circulation. Lymphatic and venous vessels are simultaneously filled. As soon as the pressure is allowed to return the venous and lymphatic loads are removed along the lymphatic and venous valves, activating the metabolic system and leading to a relaxation of the tensioned muscle areas. The cup is joined to a tube attached to a vacuum pump and can be fitted with a handle in order to be used for a dynamic vacuum massage.
