In a jet propulsion plant in which a hot jet is surrounded by a cooler annular jet, e.g. from a ducted fan engine, blades 6 for deflecting the jet are mounted for radial bodily movement by mechanism 12, 13 from positions wholly within the cooler duct formed by jet pipe 5 and outer casing 11 to deflecting positions in which the outer part 6 of each blade remains within the cooler stream to deflect this into the hot jet whereby the deflecting mechanism is always cooled. |
