Oral composition for use as drug carrier, laxative and appetite suppressant, comprising thickener, crosslinked insoluble polyvinyl polypyrrolidone and optionally mannitol in aqueous medium. An orally administered composition (I), used for improving intestinal motility and promoting defecation, as a dietetic agent and/or as a carrier for allopathics, herbal or homeopathic drugs, minerals, vitamins, trace elements, pharmaceuticals or diagnostic agents, comprises (per liter of water): (a) thickener(s) (0.5-80 g); (b) crosslinked insoluble polyvinyl polypyrrolidone (4-100 g); (c) mannitol (0-40 g); (d) aroma component(s) (0-20 g); (e) solvent for thickeners (0-50 g); and (f) nonionic surfactant (0-5 g). |
