PURPOSE: A system and a method for EC(Electric Commerce) using a serial code are provided to make a buyer easily search the article by attaching a tag including the serial code information to the article. CONSTITUTION: The tag(50) includes the serial code(52) expressing the article. A code reader(40) reads the serial code included in the tag. A wire/wireless terminal(20) transmits the read serial code to an EC server(10) through a network. A database(15) stores the serial codes, the article information, the member information and the information for the article registered and brought by a member. The EC server transmits the article information of the serial code to the terminal, processes an order process by receiving the order information from the buyer, sending the order information and the serial code to a supplier(70), and storing and registering the information and the serial code of the article brought by the buyer to the database. The server processes a payment process by linking with a financial organization server(74) and provides a part of the payment amount to the member after settling the payment.
